I'm sure your ALWAYS looking to buy something lol.

Seems decent, Acer isn't a great make though, and you may find the casing on the laptop to not the highest quality.

The main components will be decent like the Processor, but the motherboard will probably lack in quality.

Lets see what the more experienced people have to say.

Thats not actually that great, It just has alot of ram. What happened to buying a pc? As the thread tittle states, Now your considering buying a laptop. Laptops are over rated, Also heat up fairly quickly. Where as a pc has more fans to controll the heat. I wouldnt suggest buying anything from a store like pc world, staples and all them other places. Just buy the bits and make a pc yourself, You will get a pc twice as good for the cash.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=816726&category_oid= the specs on that 1 arnt bad ither, if i had the £499 i wud get it tbh. this has fairly big HDD and memory.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...m=null&tm=null&sku=989751&category_oid=-35294 if the info on the website is correct the pro speed on this 1 is pretty fast. built in card reader etc (kinda useful :P) the only problem with this 1 is the Intel Intergated graphics, but u can always buy a new slot in 1. has a lower memory useage, and HDD space.

it all depends what u want it for, Power, Storeing, Basic Browsing With MSN and maybe Photo Shop

I bought my SamsungR40 a couple/few years ago from ebuyer. It was a decent enough price at the time, alot better than what i would of got from PCWorld etc. And still works fine to this day, exept one internal drive error that Samsung sorted for me.
However i found ebuyer muppets to deal with, they messeded me around posting it, and their customer service skills were a shambles. I wouldn't use them again unless i REALLY wanted something on their site.

I know it doesnt really help with your question but thought i'd share the experience anyways, incase it offered some light on any situation.
