Could someone please explain reason for max luck?
To base a game on calculations when something happens then make it possible to hit max, max times seems to go against the spirit of everything about mir.

it seems made to pander to egos and make the incompetent invincible by spending money/massive amounts of time/bots/servants.

Yes I know its always been part of mir but why and how common has max luck been on most servers?

Over a servers progression, most people tend to gear towards obtaining max luck (or close to) as progression just happens that way over time, people can buy 50x the amount of bene's they once could and so forth.

It's natural to want to obtain max luck as it does effectively make you "OP". But is usually a pain in the ass to obtain and, usually, a pain in the ass to keep (what with Mir2's curse mechanic)

Works a little differently on Mir3 mind you, but the concept is still the same. Many servers have had max luck obtainable, one of the most successful servers in our history (Chronicles) had max luck for about 80% of its life, although that was due to a bug, Luck7 on there meant max luck rather than Luck9 being max luck. Still worked out fine though. I think providing the weapons you can obtain max luck on (like on chronicles to begin with) were lower level'd weapons, then it's less of an impact as when they're on the best possible weapon ingame.

yeah max luck on any server iv played has been/became OP, and broke the server.

only reason it was kept in Chronicles was because so many people managed to gain max luck, and sam said he didn't know luck 7 was max on there, until the damage was already done.

the server will be heavily based on luck, just like every other server that made max luck obtainable.

it needs looked into, before it gets out of hand.

Never seen a server where max luck has been balanced not even Euro.

Bon knowing he could 3 hit nearly any war and 2 hit any wiz or tao was a joke.
Has only ever had a negative effect on any server if seen it achieved on

I'm in agreement, honestly. Was just explaining to the user why max luck is a wanted thing people strive towards.

Wasn't the luck+3 pig buff nerfed so this wouldn't happen? +1 pig, +1 perm buff, +1 temp buff, getting +6/7 on wep should be close to impossible. The only issue is those new crafted weps dropping with high luck on them already, really it should be capped at like 4-5 so getting that 6/7 is just as impossible as normal weapons.

Edit: just saw in the changes thread crafted luck is now separate to bene luck. Like really guys? No one bothered to point out how stupid that would be? Even getting a crafted weapon at +3 luck would make it trivial to get to 6/7 with that. I'm shocked really. Luck is worth basically 10% (slightly more), it's by far the most valuable stat ingame. Eclipses crit and anything else. Throwing it at high levels is just fundamentally wrong. Like I can't believe I am the one having to point this out? Just complete and utter facepalm disappointed.

I hadnt expected replies agreeing that max luck isnt good for the game. Like I say everything else is calulated by the moment so why that basic thing about the game should be over ridden makes no sense.

I knew that players strive for max damage every action but ty explaining Kori. I disagree that Chronicles was most successful server. Eternals one lasted ages, so did that official USA joke. Chronicles had no competition and it was messed up by max luck too often too soon, monks, archers and more. It was long lasting but it wasnt that good.
Your comment that easy luck on lower weaps made sense.
