I've been crying with laughter for the past few hours over this.

And because they're just that jovial;

Sony hit with another breach: Hacker group LulzSec, claimed that it has hit Sony with another attack, this time on Sony’s developer network and music entertainment division. The group posted network plans and codes online, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The hacking group has claimed credit for several high-profile attacks in the past week, including attacks on PBS, FBI-affiliated security group InfraGard, Nintendo and Sony. The group denied reports that any of its members had been arrested by the FBI

What's even more funny about it, is that the US are now threatening that this could start a war. As they feel it's an attack on their country, yay for cyber idiots that think they are clever doing this.

You do understand private servers for MMOs are illegal? (Or they where last time I checked) Yet we abuse that every single day.
Illegal downloading is a naughty way of using the internet, yet I bet not one single person on this forum hasn't downloaded files illegaly.

They're all high profile uses of the internet that COULD enforce restrictions, but if governments wanted to choose how we used the internet they would do so no matter the case.

Stop being a misery arse

its **** like this which is likely to enforce restrictions on the internet for all of us.
You can't restrict the internet, you can only restrict the way the internet is distributed and that can be easily got around as well and this is what most of the hacker groups are doing. They are showing that no matter what governments and agency's do, they can beat it.

Downloading isn't illegal, but distribution is and it's under the distribution that you get screwed for. As with most site's you download from, you also upload.

these are not the same as directly attacking FBI and a country's defensive security.

downloading files isnt hurting anyone other than the company's who produced the contents pocket.

where as what they are doing is considered a threat to national security would could potentially lead to massive numbers of innocent peoples deaths.

I honestly dont know anything about hacking, Or hackers or blah blah blah.

But Lulzsec?? Sounds kinda comedic... The FBI and CIA obviously need to improve their defense. And to think, their the ones defending... pfft.
