Does anyone have a video of this working? All i really need to know is how you move from the desert to magic ship - do you just walk in to it, do you have to click it, which coords around it can you stand on etc.

I've tried booting up my server to get it spawning, but doesn't seem to want to spawn naturally.

Any help would be great, cant find any screenshots / videos anywhere of it in action.

It works like any door on mir, you walk onto a co-ordinate and ported/moved to ship.

I altered mine to a set location but the magic gate should show as activated when you run cd on launching server. If not get stings server file download and look for Magic gate within the 00default.txt file, follow and compare yours to stings.

ah ok. so you dont click on it, simply walk near it and it teleports you?

I'm trying to do it for the Hell Gate (stone gate) but since theres absolutely zero knowledge on it, im going by the same method that magic ship gate uses - which i also know nothing about.

The door is actually a monster (this caused problems on WeMade though as tao's could poison the portal from the edge of the screen and pets would kill it which then would bug the whole system).

The portal system is setup to generate something like every hour and it will open for 15 minutes and close again - the whole time it will give out server messages.
(e.g. The portal to magic ship has opened at (XXX,XXX), The portal to the magic ship will disappear in 15minutes , 10 minutes, 5 minutes, The portal to the magic ship has closed.)

In mir 3 as mentioned by chimera the portal is setup in the 00default so that you can choose where the portal takes you making it something that server owners can customise although you can't adjust the speed at which it opens or closes. I've seen in further developed files the same system for the Snow fields gate but instead of it being called @Magic_Gate it's called something like @Dark_Magic_Gate.

So when the gate has spawned at its location the player can then run to that location, once you have found the portal and are within something like 3 - 4 steps of it you will then be automatically teleported to the map / co-ords that are placed within the 00default.

Yeah this works pretty much the same way as the magic portal for magic ship. I can't remember if it came up with a prompt asking if you wanted to enter or not but that may just be one of the chinese private servers I played.

have you seen the dark gate in action? i thought you'd have to walk up to the door, but you're saying you just have to get near it and it'll take you?

My second issue is the "solidity" of it. Because its a mob it only blocks you from walking on 1 coord, but because its so large when you walk in some places you appear in front/behind it and it looks wrong. Did it stop you from going on other coords? Or did the fact that it just teleported you when you walked close get around this issue?

Yeah it didn't really seem that much of an issue because of the instant teleporting - the only way you could get near it is if you used a teleport ring or random teleport to get on top of it. It did cause an issue with mobs being infront / behind of the portal though. I would have prefered it if you walked into the gate (like a door) and then appeared on the other side at a portal / door way. Maybe like a diablo 3 portal but that's just preference I guess.

me 2 i think. trying to get it working as well as possible, but because its not solid making it work like a door where you walk through is sometimes not looking correct
