Aye i know it picks up straight away, it would still bug me tho, I have 2 17" TFTs, and if i expand something to use the full width of both the gap gets on my nerves, esepecially with text.
I prefer windows treating them as 2 separate monitors, rather than one large one with an odd resolution.
I can do the same wallpaper wise, but using this method fullscren uses one full monitor, not both monitors, which is nicer, also games etc lock to just 1 monitor. Allows me to have Firefox/MSN/etc on one, and IRC/Delphi on the other another

yeah i know what you mean. good thing with my setup is i have an extra maximise button that makes a window fill just one of the two screens so i can also have a couple things going on at once.
works nicely for movies at full cinema stlye aspect ratios. dont even get letterbox effect.
