Not everyone is off during Christmas, I for one am working most of Christmas apart from 4 days.
So it doesn't really matter when it goes up for me :/

I'm working xmas but it would be nice to have this out for the xmas period. Not really been following this, what's this like in terms of speed? Will I need to setup my trusty xp VMs to get a speed advantage or can I stay on my normal beast and still compete?

Previous version worked better with win 7 builds than xp so hopefully this will be the same.
Also agree it would be nice to have a Xmas release or at least an update on when closed beta/open beta will be

I think a lot of people would agree we just want Sam to confirm either an Xmas release, January release or a bit longer than this. The server has been hyped up so much recently yet we don't seem any closer to open beta as closed hasn't even started yet.

Sam can't be blamed for you guys not willing to see it for yourselves...a monkey could tell you it won't be up this year it's not difficult to see. Really expect any amount of testing by 15 people to be completed in under a month? Doubtful

Wether it's up this year or not it's still something for us all to look forward to, after all we're all in the same place so I can only guess we all have nothing better to do than work (the minority of us that do work) and wait it out.

I fail to see any need for some 'beta testing' as that is really only needed for subscription based games. IMO the beta testing as outlined here can only make for some bad blood feeling.
If you really need beta testing, I'd look at the acem1 forum, the bug reporting section and contact those who contributed the most there. It would be a reward of sorts for them too for those past services. This facebook business connected with lottery is silly, I for one have never had anything to do with FB, just heard about it as you can't quite escape that and I wonder how many pple here don't care about it same way.

There should be some sort of beta phase if they intend to introduce a gameshop too. It's harder to do server resets/rewinds if any game-breaking bugs and/or in-balances are found after you've taken money off people.

I think the gameshop will be put in game at some later point anyway (I think that's how it was on ace mir v1) or it should be put in later on after mir runs for a month or so to iron things that no beta with several pple on can catch.
