mir minimizes to desktop

havring a problem playing mir, upto a few days ago all was well but now when ever i start mir it minimizes to decetop but the mir icon is in my taskbar, when i click on it the screen go black i hear the login music for a second then it drops back to desktop.

System spec

P4 2.8
1Gig DDR 400 ram
120 gig Seagate baracuda SATA HDD
Geforce FX5600 256meg
Win XP pro with SP1 and all updates

is it for a p server?
if so u need the exe for that server

yes its for my P server and i have the corect EXE and if it was a EXE problem it would jump back to desktop after i conected to the game server and the icon wouldnt be in the taskbar

this happens to me with mir 3 (ei), because of a certain security patch from microsoft, whether thats got anything do do with ur mir 2 problem i don't know

Yea i know ehich one you mean m8 its the XP hotfix KB824141 and nope not that eather that was the first thing i though of but removing that update didnt work but ty all for yer help so far, just hope i dont need to do a format and reinstall as im ment to be putting me server online tuesday

Hmm iv never heard of this on mir 2 before. Mir 3 yes never mir 2. Hmm the only thing i can think of ofhand is either that your data files are corrupt or all of your mir files are totally corrupted. Best and maby only thing you can do is to reinstall mir =(

done this reinstalled mir 1.7, Real mir dont work, reinstalled RedDawn mir (my server) still no joy, but if i try on one of the other comp in my house mir works fine with these files, d/l direct 9.0b still no joy d/l latest Nvida dets, still the same starting to run out of ideas

im gessing that wen it cums up on a black screen press alt and tab then alt and tab it agen so it come up on the screen and if the screen is all black click it an it shuld work if not i aint got a clue soz dude

nope dont work, wish it did that wouldnt bother me just alt+tabing to get it going, for some reason i think its a direct draw problem cos it seems to stuggle changing resolution/colour depth but atm looking like its a format reinstall job

Hmm when you say you installed mir 1.7 did you install this or 1.4? As 1.7 will not work with mir as its too new. Also make sure 100% that you have the right ini files and that the ip's and name are 100% correct.
