Hey, not really a bug but more of a question.
My antivirus (Symnatec) is suddenly seeing mir2.exe as a gen2.trojan, I know others have had this issue previously, but I've been playing for 2 weeks without an issues and suddenly today it has occurred. Has something been changed on the exe?
Rather frustrating as I use my work laptop to play and unfortunately due to our horrible IT team, I can't exclude it from being detected, can't turn off the antivirus and can't stop the exe being deleted every five minutes.

We think someone reported the exe as a virus (it is not)
We are looking into why it was reported (seems stupid to me)
It may also be something to do with the way the exe is protected
Yes its a pain

There is no virus, its a false positive

PS
stop playing games on a work system

Isn't the exe packed with Themida?

Anything encrypted with this will show will get blocked because virus detectors can't read the files properly.

But why only start 2 weeks or so ago, when its been the same way since the start of the server

BH

I've always had problems with this exe and AVG. Though it has got a lot worse like you said in the last 2 weeks, to the point where it won't even add it as an exception.

A few months back there was a post from Samuel regarding some processes a user was running. If you are monitoring peoples processes and reporting them back, wouldn't that technically be malware anyway?

Yes, since near 15 days ago and all the anti viruses start dealing the mir2.exe as one of potential trojan whatever you do to save that file from anti-viruses trojan and that will be effected badly over game playable,
1- adding it for exception of firewall
2- adding it for exception of anti-virus program
end by deleting the file and if you did re-downloaded and playing will be who has a lag cause of anti-virus activity is ON

that what i tested and played since days ago.

Well I have now managed to get round this laptop's awful restrictions by using a program called Task Hacker, which allowed me to suspend my antivirus from running and stop it from deleting the exe every time. Really inconvenient, but at least it allows me to play on here and means I don't have to play on my horrible old PC at 7 FPS.
