Well, WeMade will not sue priv server's because there is no need for them to. They aint really a threat to Euro Mir, and they wouldnt want to look like a company which just sue's and want's cash.

Also, If TrueAMD was to code his own version, then he would have to makesure there was alot of difference's between the code. Also, as he said, his version is going to be bigger and better than Euro mir, so the difference's will stand out.

TrueADM isnt the only way u have full permission to use Wemade graphics, sounds , names is by contacting them.

No offenece but if they did clam your code as thier own is there any way a small court would believe you against an big international company.

Also couldn't they take you to their country and sue you there if they wanted to??

I have contacted them, I contacted them before chistmas regarding the issue of using their artwork in a 'community non-profit project'. They have allowed me to do it under the guidelines I stated (which I don't want to elaborate on as it's private information).

No, they can't take me to their country - they'd have to come here.

My client was programmed in .NET (a different language to theirs), and utilizes a 3D engine, and 3D sound (compared to their 2D client) - they wouldn't even attempt to claim it's theirs as my engine its totally different.

I have spoken to Wemade they said they do not have the time to take action against priavte server unless its an extreme case where people are p2p.

I even told them about RaGEZONE, they said they cant do much as the owner is not charging people to play, he's not using their files and he's also not using their client. The only thing they could only really pick up on is the Graphics.

Trying to get rival servers shut down is not nice.

I talked to gamepot when usa mir was up and they told me that you could only be sued by wemade if you made the game pay to play and that was in fact the reason that they didnt make it pay to play and sold potcash instead.

A 7 year bump, cool.

Also i highly doubt GamePot had any fear or being sued by Wemade. Beit the fact Wemade leased Mir to them.
