Hi, I wanted to ask which is better, a VPS, a Private Server, or just host the server on a pc in my house?

I ask because I do not find any vps and private server to work with windows XP ... The ones I've seen work with windows 2008 and I think MIR3 not work with windows 2008 ...

In case you need to mount my server on my pc, as should be the pc?
How much RAM?
That processor?
How many cores?
Etc. ..

Thank you very much for your help once again!

PD: sorry for the English, i use google traductor.

Mir 3 has been run for many years on computers with no problems so they can be run on very basic setups, single core, 1 gig ram, etc.

You don't need a super computer to run mir3.

but if you have a server with 30 or more members online, with only 1 core and 1 gb of ram is enough?

Thanks mate

Well first off you'd be lucky to get over 20 players at any one time and I have done it with a system 220ghz 1gb ram single core. You don't even need a fast connection speed really.

It really depends what you want to do, if you intend to have massive spawn rates and a high rate server with lots of players and lots of scripts running at any one time then of course you need more power but if you want normal spawn rates and trim the scripts and are happy with 10-15 players on a regular basis then you can run fine, lag free (which is important) and largely bug free (because of lack of lag).

hosted a mir3 back in its peak on a single core think it was a pentium 4 with 2 gigs of ram and 3 mb upload. could hold 30 users no problem and 50+ with very little lag, as long as u control the spawns some what and dont have crazy long scripts anything in the last 5 years will be fine to use
