I have directx 11 why would i need to download that? i have quite a few games that have to run on directx 9.0c like Dawn of War 2 or Saints Row 2 and have no problems.

:( but i want to play mir again, like the good old days.
Just because you have games running on 9c even though you have 11 installed doesn't mean they are running in 9c, as they will be using the 11 to run as it's just an upgraded over the top DirectX and not much different to 10. By installing 9c, this will rule out any DirectX issues.

So possible that windows 7 won't allow lower grade to be installed.

I remember an issue somewhere, not 100% sure where. But on a similair thing, where a new game had installed DirectX 10 as part of it's default drivers, but when they game tried to load, it read a lower context of the software and wouldn't intilise the direct draw for the software.

I'll have a fish around and see if I can find the article I read, as there was a fix with it also.

Just off hand, what G/Car u using?

I have no tried that, but how far back do you think i should go? because by the looks of things windows 7 is not supported properly even by the most latest drivers for my particular card so i am like using Vista drivers.
