silly question but has the server even been stress tested? is it capable of handling the potential 300+ players? all crating accounts and characters? and running around on a small map area?

might be a good idea to maybe open account creation a day earlier then lunch date to reduce the number of accounts and character being made and potential over running the server and causing it to crash as that would be a shame!!!

This is why there should have been an open beta.

I think Age of Conan did something similar to this.

Rift and Aion used an instanced start area IIRC.

It could solve a few startup issues if Mizu was made a instanced map at first, and it could always be swapped back to a single map during a reboot once the rush has settled.

I'm sure that so long as the spawns are temporarily increased it should be ok.

Maybe a GM could be online in Mizu for the first hour of launch to keep an eye on the situation and to tweak the spawns as necessary.

After the first hour or two of launch the population will have spread to Oma cave, mines and WT.

PKing at the start of mir is basically be a warr and you win cause you have more base HP, wizards HP is so low that they will just keep getting ganked over and over if it becomes a full out brawl lol

i don't think it will be the spawns that will be the issue rather the hordes of plays being isolated into one tiny map! it will cause issue like lag and server my struggle with 300+ players in that single spot.

It's a real shame because I think Mizu as a starting area was really good and it introduced players to the first 10 levels, it would be a shame for people to miss that part of the game out due to overcrowding.

Instance style Mizu would be great.

Worthing is depressing.
For sake of it would it not be possible to impliment a automated spawn that there is always 20mobs per 1 player plus a default 200 on the map? Hardly going to be exploited by players to rack up levels by making million of noobs. Just easiert than trying to guess... Last thing you want is over spawning and people literally ontop of mobs when they spawn. Especially after first day or so users logging in will significantly drop in comparrison to day 1. This also means you wont have a hyped up map full of mobs when only 10 people are on it causing potential lag?

I hope they don't instance it, it'll only be a day 1 "problem" that everyone should expect anyway.
I enjoy playing in crowded areas :P
