Orc Slashers would destroy the cave if they never had the smarter AI. Theyre too strong as it stands, let alone if they are "dumb" and line up on you.

Yeah to be fair they do cause enough trouble even when they work against themselves.

With regards to ranged mobs, our screens are wide rectangles. Meaning ranged can get you when they are off screen when above or below you, I am yet to find a mob that can attack you from off of screen left or right. I could be wrong, although i know that Bone and Zuma archers' range is a few steps short of the horizontal edge of the screen and Right/Leftguards range is 1 step less than the edge of screen.

If ranged mobs could be coded to have separate vertical and horizontal ranges that would probably make things better for players.

Status on reported mobs.

TrapRock - Fixed, needs testing.
FrostTiger - Fixed, needs testing.
WoomaTaurus - Fixed, needs testing *WARNING* now that he doesn't become unresponsive for 30 seconds, he has more time to hulk out.
IncarnatedWT - Fixed, same as WoomaTaurus.
IncarnedZT - Fixed, same as IncardnatedWT.

Going to be looking at ranged mobs when I get home tonight.

Are there any in particular that appear to attack further off screen that expected?

Sam, regarding the range of mobs its not their agro vision its their attack cycle vision.

Agro seems perfectly fine.
Once you have the agro of a ranged mob it goes through its attack cycle for example zuma atcher shhots 4? Arrows before "reloading" these 4 arrows hit from miles away but again only after you gain the agro.

PB can be frustrating with winged and crossbowmen when trying to run through.

List of snipers...

*Winged Omas, (these are particularly annoying as they not only shoot you off screen BUT THEY STAY OFF SCREEN, you step forward and they run further and further off screen, almost every other ranged mob stands on the edge of the screen to shoot you)

*Crossbow Omas, (possibly same as winged above staying off screen)

*Zuma archers (also, is it just me or do these do more damage than they used to on ace? or have more accuracy or something. is this intentional? I personally think these mobs hit far too quick and too often for the cave they're in, just my opinion anyway)

I'm sure there's more but can bring them to mind.

Cheers,

/Nyx

P.S. As above, aggro range is fine, but once they spot you the problem mobs seem to run about 10 spaces away.

Orcs mobs have superdoublemaxrange, pretty annoying lol

Ah yes, the ones I forgot about, Orc Knifemen hit you from a bloody mile away as well (altho aggro range is fine). Makes it near impossible to lure the flaming things unless you're on the other side of Mir. :)

As mentioned, it's not the aggro range that's the problem, it's the mobs detection radius/range that's off once it's locked onto you. It'll keep hitting you even if you're well off screen.

So part of the issue I have always had with ZumaArchers... Is I can't reproduce the bug... Every time I try to walk away from a zuma archer it stops attacking and starts walking after me (which is what the code represents).

Try it with Orc ranged mobs or WingedOmas. They seem to do this "bug" much more often.
