Best way is to delete every trace of MSN messenger, go to www.mcafee.com and do an online virus scan, then reinstall MSN from scratch if your computer is now clean.

Sorry to shout "DON'T EVER DO AN ONLIONE VIRUS SCAN" I don't care if they are a company that can be trusted.

Now this all depends on the virus that has been sent over msn and removing every trace of msn won't cure it at all. If its the link virus then your screwed unless your very good at editing your reg -

The link virus uses a replicator virus and embedds itself into your reg, it copys all behaviors of msn. It then duplictaes itself over several msn chat windows - you cant even close msn down due to this as it also has ur password logged for msn and so reopens msn up.

Image virus use's an old school backdoor for msn and doesn't really do much damage apart from its bloody annying showing the same image over and over again.

You need to be more persific to as which vMSN virus you have to what steps need to be taken to remove - but as ive said above - "NEVER USE ONLINE VIRUS CHECKERS"

I agree don't use online virus checkers in general but mcafee is safe, I have used it many times, that is why I was specific.

Simply put they are invasive onto your computer looking at every file.... now imagine the power that virus checker has if it wants to do something other than check for virii...

lol one of my m8s had that. tbh, if your stupid enough to open something called 'image3434.BAT' then you deserve to have an infected computer.
