Everytime I try adding someone to MSN it says "it appears this contact doesn't use Messenger yet"

even though I know for a fact that they do, cos I can add them using the old MSN (Windows Messenger)

same thing happens on every email addy i try and it's pissing me off -_- tried searching google but found nothing on it.

any ideas?

this is seriously pissing me off now.

tried deleting all my caches and stuff from registry, nothing. tried reinstalling, nothing.

tried adding one of my other msn's (as i know it does use the same version of msn..), same problem "doesn't use messenger yet"

how about the web one?
see if you can add it there, then you can switch to windows live.

Tried that, and I can add people, and they show up, they also show up on Windows Messenger (old), but same thing with Windows Live, it hasn't added them...

so that tells us that its something to do with either this version of MSN of my copy of it

Try an older version of msn mate it might just be a glitch with the new one as they usually come out in beta and are poop :)

Your comp obviously cant handle the complexity of the new windows live, update your computer and "get it over with"?

yes clearly.

worked fine before now lol, dunno where to find an earlier version tho?
