lower your upload speed...

your downloading off other computers, if they are far away, or have a slow connection, it will slow your download speed alot.. =-/ bit torrent is usfull. but a pain in the arse when you need something fast!.

Whats your rated connection speed Speckle? You might also want to consider using Azureus as your bittorrent client, which is much better at peer management.

Az will find the best peers for you, whereas BC will connect to any peer it can upto your preferred limit.
