just moved into my new house in hull, its owned by a place called clubeasy who rent out houses to you, internet is supplied free and uses 'Karoo'.
its a 10 bedroom house, but doesnt seem to be on a router, it seems like we have a line for each house, along with a phone line aswell.
my ip is 83.100.172.***
Im on adsl broadband, and use a speedtouch usb modem and a filter, no router as far as im aware.
it says my speed is 2.3Mbps
i have an average download rate of 60-70kb/s
this is my results
I have no idea what the speed actually is of my internet, last year it was a 10mb line and im only 5 miles away from there (still in hull and guess im still using kingston communications (hulls phone company))
When i play over the internet on a game, its no unbelievably slow i cant do anything.
iv tested...
Mir - just lags alot
battlefront 2 - movement delay of about 2 seconds
quake - movement delay of about 2 seconds (when hosting a game it runs fine for me, but not for my friend in another room who joined my game)
Can someone tell me if i just have a really crappy internet, or if somethings actually slowing my internet down. Its the same in every room of the house.
