I only speak from files and server setups I have seen. The team may have done something different. and rewritten it so that each char has an ID, and uses that as a primary key (the standardised way of doing it)

If the team wants a database engineer to help them do it, feel free to gimme a shout

Can be only one legitimate reason a player would like to change identity imo(not directed at OP)... been a tw@t and now realise that everybody knows.No place to hide except re-roll,my 2 pence.

This is another side to the dice, it just opens up the way for a lot of people to be conned and scammed. Leveling isn't that hard - if you want a name change, reroll.

See absolutely no reason to implement this change.
