Take it as a compliment Linz, I did when the same happened to me for the Mir 3 Global launch. Either you're so awesome your character name alone is a threat to them or they simply want to be like you.
As far as I'm concerned you haven't made it in Mir unless your char name has been taken for a popular server launch. I'm almost a little insulted my char names haven't been taken this time around :'(

so i dont see why this cant be sorted. it sohuld be fairly easy. gm sohuld check see all these names and what ip was used to create them and then IP ban them for it simple and it gives us our names back.

i have been the char Linz in every mir like game since it began in 2001. including bens private servers, p69, 4heros, mir usa etc.... I know I got bored with some of them and didnt log on n quit, but every1 knew who i was. so why is it silly to want to keep ur identity in an online game ????
I always release a false name before hand for all the childish kids and then come out with my real name.
I think name stealing is a bit sad and pathetic but it brings that extra bit of banter to the game.

Only have 1 char name myself, and it's not taken from anyone else, it refers to an attack Mimiron does on WoW(wanted a silly name instead of the usual)
On another note... A name doesn't make the player, who cares what your characters called :/ just let people know your new character name and play that

i understand where your coming from having the name that represents you over so many years can mean allot i would know. but think of all those random people you wont have to respond to pming you everyday that you have no idea who they are asking if you remember them :S . hopefully the gms can sort you.
maybe after a month of game time the team could reset all char names that havnt lvled past 10?

it is if u wanted ur old name u should have made it as soon u could not 1 day before the opening
i believe it was Pandoria/Twisted. i dont care which one gets dropped the most as long as they pay... they share and play so much with each other im happilly target them lol
I was well known on euro D server, but, on playing private servers, I found it was actually a bonus to play a different name. Not because I would be pk ed, but you play from scratch again, if by the time you finish playing or the server folds and people knew who you were as your new alias then well done, pat on the back :P Some goons you can spot immediately under any alias, and hunting with folk you maybe haven't played mir with in a good few years, then finding out you used to hunt with them years back, well, kinda makes you chuckle. Every server a new start, this will be no different.
no idea who this pandoria/Twisted nubs are but bit harsh to accuse unless you no 100% , people will just do it to make there name bigger on server.
