personally i think anyone who claims the dole should be forced in to some sort of employment unless they are disabled (and only if it really affects them working). If you dont want to work and you dont claim the doll then thats fair play. I bet if they stopped the dole a lot of these people that "couldnt" work would get a job pretty damn quick.

People talk about, foreigners coming into our country, not doing any work but still getting tons of money from benefits etc. But I don't think there is as much worry for any more foreigners coming in simply because of the new rules of regulations, I believe that the new rules state that if any foreigner (unless for serious medical reasons) enter this country for stay, they must complete 1 or several tests, which I believe may include English literature, and definitly a detailed history. I believe it is now very hard for any foreigner to permanently stay in this country with out a job, unless they are married to some one who lives in this country who already has a job, or if there is a child involved.

I know alot of you will say, but what about education, they can stay stay for education, but from what I have heard the second they stop their education they are illegaly in this country and will be deported. And if they finish their education, this is from a case which I personally been consulted about, they are liable to do 1 year of work, which afterwards they must return to their country unless their employer has been pleased with them and offers them, or recommends them, to a job. With out a any sort of work permit/job offer or any marriage or child involved situation, I believe it is very hard to permanently stay in the UK. So unless of reasons to do with marriage or children it is very hard to live in the UK without working. Everything I have said are cases of which I personally know of and information that I have been told about those cases

I believe the main issue is that of British Citizens not working (unless your issue is of foreigners gaining Britich Citizenship), but I would not disagree with the idea of tightening the rules or regulations of immigration the UK, especially if any of the information is incorrect.

Personally I would like to see a much tighter system for "dole dossers", possibly national service but only up to a limit, I don't believe you should force every one who has not been employed for a certain amount of time (due to medical reasons) onto the national service. I believe you should investigate their claims, but that is the problem, their claims are being checked but too slowly for it to have much of an affect. As for those who are un-employed with out any medical reasons, I believe they should be made to work until they find a job. But that brings in the whole argument of "Working for free" and soon they will want to be paid for it, which, like some else said, will increase our tax. It seems like every solution has a problem in this case.

EDIT : I think alot of people are talking about different things, I mean British Citizens and Foreigners are 2 different things.

They may be run by Asian's and Polish who are not born in this country, but most of them are British Citizens as I doubt they would be working here with out applying for a British License, although some of them are not, so I don't believe your problem is with "Foreigners", maybe its with different races or religions?

Why does that have nothing to do with "dole dossers"? If you are saying that immigrants don't work that has everything to do with "dole dossers", as you are saying ALOT of immigrants are "dole dossers" since they don't work and still seem to earn money which allows them to support themselves, so surely by saying that you would want to reduce immigration?

I agree that it is ridiculous, people who are too lazy to work, getting money for free, thats obviously ridiculous, but the only problem is differentiating them from people with true and real claims of being unable to physically work, but the lack of government action is allowing this to carry on in huge numbers, one of the reasons why it is possible for such "thieves" to get away with this is the lack of government effort, some may say the government is trying, but I seriously doubt it is trying with much effort let alone any effort.
