Well im after a laptop, i got £600 at the minute, i think i will get one around that price. I want it to do everything, work-games etc. Any 1 know what to go for?

i had alook a this what do you guys think > http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=358444

i also like the apple macs but they are small

just some points i'd like to point out, or ask.

1. Why are you getting a laptop? For mobilitiy or the actual "wow i got a laptop feel"

2. For £600 you wont get a ultimate gaming laptop i doubt.

3. Battery life on laptops are never that amazing, when playing high end games your battery will run down and die fast.

4. If all you're going to do is sit at a desk with it plugged in to play games then you may as well buy a pc which will be extremly better.

You want mobility, but you also want to play all the games?

The problem with that is, laptops designed for mobility don't have very fast CPUs, but really good battery instead.

So whats more important - the ability to play games, or portability (aka freedom from the power lead)?

As far as I KNOW, the graphics on that laptop sucks.

Plus 12.1 inch screen? come on, you need atleast 17 inch nowadays.

Buying a laptop isn't like buying a desktop from my experience.
A desktop you can build to do EVERYTHING you like.
A laptop - you need to decide what you want. Basic e.g. word processing and the likes. portability - long life battery?. Things like that.
You need to focus specifically on one aspect and buy your laptop based on that.
For the money you pay getting a laptop you can get excellent desktops.
Basically, only buy a laptop if you definately need one not just for the laptop ownership effect.
On a side note. The new macbooks with the intel chip set are far superior at running windows than any other laptop I've tried.

urban what do you sujjest?

I'm really not helpful at all when it comes to actually finding anything laptop wise in the UK.

IF you could find something with core duo, 512+ ram, 15"+ that would be a really nice laptop.

screw my suggestion what Urban says goes then?
ungrateful scrotum.

He just asked for another suggestion, he didn't blow off yours. Watch your language.
