Need Major Help please!

Hi , i have a computer down stairs and it just stoped working.When i restart it, it just loads then i get the "_" bar flashing then it dissapers.Nothing else happens.I have tried to reinstall it , by adding a disk (windows pro) and booting from disk but it doesnt work because i get the same problem (i see "_" flasing then dissapers). Do you peeps have any idea of what the problem is?

It cant be a virus - because i dont have internet downstairs.

take it to a repair shop if your confused, i ended up blowing my motherboard that way

lol exactly if u aint rly good at hardware and stuff i suggest u not touch it wen i was tryin to put in a new cdrom i sumhow managed to damage my processor :P

most places charge you just for looking at it though. so id figure out what the problem is befor you take it to get fixed tbh. if u have anotha pc, swap some hardware about, find out whats faulty.

Change your startup BIOS to CDROM so that It can recognise ur disk at startup when u switch on the PC... to do this you have to hit on the "Del or Delete" button or press F8.

You need a working processor to be able to do that ;o

From what he's said, I don't think he'd get that far.

i got some dodgy indian shop so im scared that if i go to them 2 "repair it" they will take parts out and replace them so the computer will break even more -_-.What they done 2 me last time made me pay 200quid for repair and it broke after 1month.

If the bar is still flashing then that mean's it isn't booting to the CD, change the boot sequence in thge bios, and repair windows.

The bar is flashing for like 5 seconds , then it complete disapers and i get a dark blue screen , ive let the computer on for like 10min and nothing happend.

Also that computer has 2.6ghz and loaded really really slow took about 5/6 minutes and this pc ahs 2.4ghz and loads in about 1min.On setup the downstairs computer , was on "FAst Boot"

It shows the bard because it is loading from the HDD. Go into the bios and change the boot sequence to cdrom and boot from the cd.
