Ive been working with the CD 3.55 files now for a while, changing everything to proper english and such but have not actually bothered to try to get into game. Ive installed everything correctly, and everything seems to boot up fine all gates open etc, however ive seen in a lot of screenshots on Netcheck loads of random letters and numbers, the only thing that seems to appear on my netcheck is the following:

ÒÑÔÚ±¾µØ82¶Ë¿Ú¼àÌý!

Could anyone assist with resolving this please?

lol at least you can get to the select server part, my client is still telling me that the server is offline.

Ive actually managed to fix that problem with Netstat now, just putting the key:

if you are getting server offline, it is most likely your RegServer is offline or not setup properly...

regarding netcheck, i replaced the key again with what you just pasted... still has not worked.. :(

You have editied the Client side I take it - it will try to connect to the IP you gave it with the port and it will either light up or remain Grey if it cannot connect to that Address. In regards the regserver, It does not need that at all, this is a extra program to do login / create account (thus take away the need for AMS etc)..

What does netcheck actually do? anyone tried writing their own version of it? If anyone has some info :)

My problem is solved. It was me having a totally dumb moment!

My server has tcp/ip filtering enabled therefore all Mir3 ports were blocked :P

from my understanding, the loader and netcheck work together... i think the loader has triggers which the netcheck waits for, and then explores the ini for the long key which it verifies. server runs without netcheck but stats are blocked. How it blocks stats, I do not know... but i am guessing writing your own version of netcheck would require writing your own version of loader.

thats all i know of it im afraid
