Hey some of you know that i had my car written off before christmas picking my new one up tomorrow. Another saxo just a bigger engine a year older a 91k miles this time.

Car cost 995 and the garage is putting it through it's MOT right now for a year and taxing it for another 6months. I was planning on modding my old saxo but didnt get the chance too. Just brought a few things for it.

Just got a Twin DTM exhaust for £30 and wondering the best way to fit it? I've been told i can cut my current exhaust and then get a uni clamp and do it this way but is this the best way?

Personally for a saxo I would of bought a Magnex full system or atleast just the backbox.

Best option, and what i would to is take it to kwik fit and having it done there, my stepdad bought and had fitted a whole new exhaust for around 90 quid, so i cant see em charging to much to just fit the end piece.

See, no offence but why on earth do you guys do that? U spend a grand on a car and as I would call it "chav it up" twin exhausts should only be on a car that actually has the engine for em anyway lol. Then end up spending another grand on mod's for it, why not just spend 2 grand on a tidy nice looking car, or buy an older model bigger engined car and spend all the extra cash you spend on modding a bog standard saxo on the higher insurance price lol.

A speedo and an exhaust? I like saxo's so why not make it better looking? That cost £30 lol not exactly 1000's.

I do agree, saxo's do look nice, i'm suprised to see your old one dont look to bad, i was in a crash in an S reg a few years back, when my friend went up the back of an escort at about 20mph, whole front end was caved in lol.

I wasnt saying that the exhaust is costing 1000's, but you said that you were planning on modding your old saxo, im just of the assumption your looking to do the same with your new one, spending 30 quid here, 30 quid there all soon mounts up.
I just dont understand it personally, take a look at the thread a few below about chav's you know, thats what my brother has done to his car he bought the car for about 4k and has spent alot more than that on mods, now he's bored and thinking of buying a skyline lol, i know for sure hes probably going to struggle to sell it now as its not standard.

What I woulda done in your situation is just buy a nice looking older VTR and left it standard, each person has their own oppinions though, I just wish I could understand why people do it to standard cars.

i dont really see the point in modding small car's if its a car like a Skyline or RX7 or summat like a Supra then fair enough and i like the VTR n VTS jsut that they have so many crumple zone's my cousin had one it was almost like a FlatPack. because he roled it aswell

couple of things, you said bigger engine but didnt specify lol is it 1.4?

theyll charge you depending on the state of your current exhaust, if you got a tidy nice exhaust currently then it wont be a problem welding both metals together but if your current exhaust is rusted it will be difficult to connect both plus chances of it then blowing ( holes in the exaust not blowing up ) wich makes it a much more difficult task.

on what karl said i agree, id rather buy a car thats alrdy been done and is standard rather than buying a car and adding things to it.

heres an egsample for you , would you rather the top end of the line 300c chrysler with the 6.7 v8 or v12 engine or the bottom end of the range bentley?

flog the exhaust n pay for a decent system like Loz... that internal bore is probly WAAAAAAAY to big for the rest of the system so ull suffer back pressure problems... oh and look like a dickhead. DTM's do not suit saxo's

yeh i agree with floyd, got to buysomething specifically made for the car, otherwise you wont release the right amount of fumes which will back up and effect the performance of the engine.

I didn't just buy the exhaust without looking it up. Although i would prefer a complete system and not sure about the look neither only way to find out is to fit it. Any suggestions on systems or is a full Magnex system the best option? Can see what you mean with the bore though XD

Most saxo owners from the SSC tend to go for Magnex, unless they go for a custom system (More expensive).

Its been awhile since I was in the saxo modding scene.

just cos it ses it will fit, guessing it was an ebay listing doesnt mean its the right one, i mean do the hangers match up etc? try geting a m8 to hold it under the car b4 u fit it, nothing worse then a ****ty fitting/looking exhaust

I took my Ka off a roundabout a couple of months back, surprisingly minimal damage though. Just ****ed up 3 alloys as i went up a pretty deep curb, surprised it didn't tip actually =p.

That Saxo doesn't actually look THAT bad.
Not that I can see what damage has been done under the bonnet / behind the bumper, but it looks like a couple new lights, new bonnet, new bumper, maybe the front side panels replaced.
Probably would need a lot of pulling out though.
Dunno really.

Yea it looks ok but it doesnt start, doesnt wanna move without alot of force. Two tyres got popped when i had the accident etc insurance came out on thursday and said its a write off so i'll be selling it for parts or selling parts from it.
