New players - game not working

Hey Guys,

Need some help here...

Finally got 3 of my friends as far as to download and try the game.
However after finishing the download, they are not able to run the game.

2 different problems:

- Players 1 and 2: immediate black screen after pressing play on the patcher
- Player 3 : error message: your computer cannot run this program

Steps taken:

- Players 1 and 2: i am aware that the black screen often come due to missing .net frame work and Directx SDK. However we installed both the latest .net framework and directx sdk and the issue remains.
We also tried several resolutions > still same issue

- Player 3: his error seems like something with windows smartscreen, we disabled this completely, also disabled windows defender > still same issue

I'm pretty sure we are missing a certain % of new players on this server due to these kind of errors.
Especially for new players that never played the game, im sure most just stop trying to play when the game doesn't work.

So , does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

i had the same problem ...uninstall all .Net / all C++ / and DirectX SDK from your ControlPanel "Programs and Features" on win7...not sure wots it on win10 as i dont like it but surely you will figure it out

after that reboot your PC and Install these:

it fixed for me like that.....i still have lil problem when im on login screen the game isnt full screen and i have these right /left black bands but once i get into the game it goes full screen....good luck i hope works for you aswell

their problem might also be the kind of monitor, respective resolution of it that they use

some monitors have problem to switch res on the fly to something poky low like what mir requires, I'd have them try windowed mode first, select it in autopatcher or ini file, then if you still want full screen, toggle into it when in game by alt-enter and it might work.

starting in full screen with some mir editions, I sometimes needed to try launching two or three times in row before that black screen all of sudden, after some hesitation like, changed into login screen gfx
