I have just ordered Sky Broadband 16meg.

I am trying 2 host a server and 1st I need 2 forward the ports, So I go on the router setup page , asks for my login (I Write Admin for Login and Password as password) it then says it failed 2 logg me in. How can I host a serv if I cant forward the ports on the router lolz?

Any Help guys?

If the user guide gives that as the default username and password which fails, then it is for sure not a brand new router. I would sugest returning it.

First make sure you typed the default logins in lowercase format. Ie. The username would be "admin", not "Admin" or "ADMIN". Also check the materials that came with your SkyBB offer to check to see if they have set it differently.

If that fails, look around the back of the router while its switched on. Your looking for a little hole/indentation. With the router on, press this little button with something like a pin or pen. This will reset the router to its default settings.

All netgear routers that I have used, have the defailt settings as Username: admin password: password . If a hard reset did not fix the problem and you're 100% sure you have input the details correctly, return the router.

Just pressing the button restarts the router as far as i know. Holding the button down for about 30 seconds however performs a hard reset. Thats what it's like with Linksys routers anyways..
