Ninja nerf to refine?

Think its just RNG, there was many discussions about this during ace, sometimes you could mine and get 6+ usable plats in 1 bag, other times you could mine for hours on end and get nothing.

Random is random.

There is no such thing as random when it comes to computers. Somewhere there has to be a script/formula which makes it appear to be "random"

True but it's still all probability.

If it's a 1 in 100 chance of getting a Platinum ore then you could mine all day and still get nothing, or mine all day and get 10 pieces. It's just luck.

Obviously law of averages will state over a long enough period (say, 30days) you'll actually get the correct amount of ores over that period, but if you've had 1 or 2 bad days that's not a good enough sample size to go on :P

4 bad days x 7 people (me + 4 friends/guildies ingame + 2 here). Well, it's not 30, but it's damn close.

I realize it's random and there are dry spells, but this seems like more than that.

i got 7 in 2 nights and like i said before 40 + ada ore now stands @ 10 plat and 50 ada ore in 3 nights theres nothing wrong with mining you dont like the grind dont do it simple tbh plenty in tm u can buy

I don't have a problem with mining. The fact that the drop rate seems to have changed by a factor of 10 overnight bothers me.

lol have ppl only just started mining or something plat ore is NOT a set rate per/hour is a drop. "RANDOM" sometimes you get a lot sometimes you don't

archers need them for arrows and others need them to make gems.
I think its just a way to ninja nerf archers.

It is a good point why would we nerf stuff.
I want and have been trying since I joined the team to make the server fun (within reason)
Why would I nerf something like mining.
As has been pointed out its all random

I'm giving up on refines, I have broken way too many items trying +3 and recipes seem so random, one works once fails on the next item.

Maybe there is a set limit somewhere in the files that only allow a set number of ores to drop but I do not think there is.

Also a possible reason to nerf would be people getting upwards of 20 p12+ plats a day. Seems like a decent reason.

I'm not calling you liars, but the shift between the first few days and the past few has been massive. I could have easily gotten 10-15 mil a day by mining during the first days if I did it for about 12 hours at the insane rate plat was dropping.

Since I don't know if I (and others) were just lucky the first few days, figured I'd ask if there's some hidden stat somewhere.

Edit: a suggestion: allow crafting with any puri, but have a sliding scale of success rate. 70% at p14, 65% at p12, and say 25% at p5. If someone wants to break a 400k destruction rune on p5 plat.. let em! Or you could put the cheapest rune in with a p16 at 80% success and still lose both. A consequence would be a reduction in gem costs, making them more available and that would likely lead to a cost increase for gemmable level 30+-ish items. Which makes more sense to me.. I mean it's stupid that a dc gem costs more than a JMace and that a gemmed +1 JMace costs about 3 times what a normal one does.

Nothing in the file that I can so that limit it and also looking at the trust man there 10 pages on plat ore for sale

As I have said nothing has been changed since refining was added as there needs to be a reboot to change mining and we have not rebooted the server since the reboot to fix the M2 errors

Personally I dont see an issue with the amount of plat people are getting. There are a shed load of gems being made at the moment... Its the refine which just seems to be completely random, and has nothing to do with what you use

Its not just one person testing its a collective effort of multiple people, all pooling information together to try workout how to successfully refine, and after more than 30 refines, recipes that work for one person don't for another, worked on one weapon then never work again.

7 in 1 hour with 2 chars swift pick axes ect other night. 2 last night in same time. Ill let you know what it is tonight but I average 2 per char an hour with those chars.
