Nooby question needing an answer.

I apologise in advance for the stupidness of this question but I've looked everywhere for an answer but to no avail.

I played Mir (1.4) last about a year ago, and in my day was quite the veteran, but I've just relooked into Mir, and my memory has somewhat vanished. So here goes 2 v.nooby qestions

1) I've installed mir 1.9. Is it ok to use Leo's front end with this version of mir?

2) When I start up on a server I want to go on, The image is scrambled with many different colour, how can this be fixed?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure all windows are closed down before running the game (create a shortcut to the desktop of the mir.exe and run it from there). If that doesn't work, try using a different interface like this one here.
