have u guys got like a direct connection to the server or something tht makes u not lag lol cos atleast 200 out of the 250+ people tht play get lag

even ben came on yesterday or day b4 and said it was laggin

its a hard 1, like u and otehrs have said when user count is like 100-150 its fine, no lag at all.. its when theres like 230 ppl on it starts to lag

i honestly dont know if its down to the dedi not handlin it, even tho CPU usage will be at around 30-40%, the ram ias 8gb surely thats enuff... the database is just so large all the data getin saved and wrote to SQL is too much... i dunno i aint a coder so i cant say, it could just be the files

ne who, u say i aitn doin ne thing bout it but i am... we're in devolpment of new files to hopefully help improve the game and lag and eveerything else

I've created a new set of files (server and client) for mir, which no current server has. based off of Mir Unleashed back when it was open source - over a year ago, when mobs, spells and bag didnt work... the 3 classes barely worked, and assassin wasnt even invented yet lol - it boasts Assassin, all new features (enhanced guild system, cross-char-across-account storage, enhanced group, new mob ai, and much much more) and, sexy Developers

ALL armours and weapons for ALL classes(yes, including assassin) work.

Seems this guy has been a busy bee lol what him and Ben are working on does seem something special!

I don`t lag on any other game/server including Lineage 2 which requires better specs to run than Mir, how do you explain this?
Your probs connecting on the dedi and this will be why you don`t lag and others lag like fk.....

lo all i downloaded old skool did all patchs ect but wen i click exe 2 play the game it comes up with a msgs saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permisson to access the items" any1 help plz

You may have AVG as your anti-virus program, this is causing alot of ppl hassle for mir as it's treating it as a virus (lol probably right)

IF this is the case, to fix it, open up AVG - Double Click resident shield, click manage Exceptions, click add path and select where your mir2.exe file is held (or u could just click documents/computer then click okay so it'll ignore the lot)

Click apply then Save Changes and it shud be okay, redownload ini + exe and test.

i have not got AVG but i do have sophos anti virus may this also cause the problem?

It could do, try doing the same thing i said except making it ignore your mir folder however way you can on sophos, then re d/l ini + exe, this is usually the case, some anti-virus programs block mir.
If it STILL wont work, try disabling sophos then try it. Failing that, it will prove its not ur anti virus and u'll have to ask for better help =/

thats confusing, your antivirus deleted a few files and you reformatted? I honestly dont think that a reformat will fix your antivirus as you will find out as soon as you do an update, by the way the problem with the mir2.exe is that it is packed with a certain type of packagiung that some viruses have been spread through so most antivirus software will now automatically try and delete or block the files, which will leave 2 options either make exceptions in your AV software or dont run any AV software at all, personally I would go the exceptions route as you really dont want to have to reformat your computer daily
