Hi, Ive always wondered how many players actally play mir3, is it bigger than mir2 population? (private servers i mean), as i can find no online server status, can anybody tell me what sort of population ther are on the mir3 prelude to war servers? Thanks.

Quite simple. Mir3 has far fewer servers, but a lot more players per server. That said, the overall population for pmir3 is still lower than that of pmir2.
I'd love to give you more accurate feedback, however the majourity of pmir3 servers close their usercount ports, therefore a detailed online status list is a little difficult to create.

any chance of a rough estimation of how many players on average per server, and how many servers are currently active, if not then thanks for the information anyway.

most popular servers (this is 25% of the online servers, run 24/7) have atleast 100+ on at most times.
though i know atleast 2 mir3 servers that dont advertise on lomcn and have 200+ users online at peak.
id say no more than 15 servers are active, and no more than about 4 advertised are popular with 100+ on.
if a server is advertised here, it usually gets quite a few ppl online, unless its poorly hosted.
