im running vista atm, and im having a problem running mir3, how would i make a seperate partition to run windows xp.

i dont want it to mess any of my other stuff up. so if you think its a bad idea, tell me why, rather then just telling me how to do it.

thanks.

Just make a partition in your current drive, so put 30gig a side for your windows xp.

you can use many partition software, last time i did it, i used.

Paragon Partition Manager 8.5

then just find a crack and use it.

After that, just install windows xp on the partition you created (not your vista one)

- Can't see a reason why it would be a bad idea to do it, a hell of a lot of people have two OS's installed onto their machines.

-If you need more information, just reply and i'll see if i can reply with a better guide.

it would be a good idea to backup your important data first though

Tried this yesterday with vista installed first splitting of 50gb for my xp installation but when i boot up with the xp cd to install it starts but then it blue screens i've had to use VMWare.

Didnt screw any of my data on vista up but just wouldn't work for some reason, so i installed it through VMWare and it worked a treat, might be best if you wish to, install xp first then vista but you would need to re-install everything =/

when using that partition trial thing, it looked to be a good program, but when i went back into it, it had messed up my hdd, now it says its a bad sector and cannot be partitioned.

no idea why its done this. and no idea how to fix. any thoughts.

upon later thinking, my pc needs a format anyway.

when i format my hdd, and it gives you the option to create partitions. can i create 2 partitions and install 2 os's from there?

im just wondering, with 2 partitions, can each partition see the other? as in, can you access the opposite partition?

im just worried about programs clashing thats all.

if both OS's use the same file system e.g fat32 or NTFS then i see no problem with vista and xp recognising each other...

The 2 partitions will be visible from both OS's programs won't clash however as each OS will see a different drive as the main drive, and will store all its settings there.

Google for "Dual Boot XP Vista"

Whats the Mir3 problem (it works fine for me on vista)

Its prob alot easier to fix that error then to go through all the trouble of doing an XP partition

firstly, crueldragon wont load, i double click it, and it doesnt do anything, but its running in task manager.

but the main problem is the actual client wont load. ive downloaded the euro client from kaoris site, but double clicking the exe gives that crash message straight away.

thoughts?
