muhaha. im on an ultimate spree of thread creating!!

is there a point to buying a good case?

i have an old case. hardly any air holes. 3 cd slots, 2 disk slots.

and i was looking at a few cases. one which has a liquid cooling system built on to it.

is it worth spending a few pennies, or is it all just a waste of money?

Do NOT under any circumstances by a case with built in CPU cooling.

Cases are for the majority an asthetic choice with good airflow.

There's a good chance that cooling system they provide will not match your system. Don't forget almost all PCs are unique.

As for Lian-Li cases, they're very nice, but also VERY expensive.

A good case can certainly aid temperatures a lot, and muffle fan noise. However, generally speaking, the case should be the LAST thing you upgrade.

I mean, if you THOROUGHLY dislike your current case, by all means upgrade. I did, to an EZ-Cool Artic. But the only change that will really affect you is how much more or less noise the new one makes.

currently its impossible to sleep with my pc on. the 6 fans makes it really loud.

all cases iv seen have 4+ cd slots. can u not get any with just 3?. i dont see why i shld need so many, and i dont want my tower to be really tall.

Because they usally suck and are wickedly expensive.

Lian-LI makes great cases.

I so want that case but cant justify spending almost a hundred quid on a case at present.

Yep, they had hydraulic problems in the earlier models, not sure if they fixed it.
