does it do it in any particular place? like when you watch films, surf net etc.

if its only done it since a reinstall, then its probably not an overheating problem.

I had a problem like this turned out my ram was not in the correct slots. Read throught the mobo booklet and make sure you have everything in the right place.

Listen to the beeping before you unplug, if you notice with the beeping its in morse code.

Now listen to the beep even more carefull and write it down, you will notice you have short and long beeps. This is binary and is all part and parcel of what the problem is.

LONG BEEP = 1
SHORT BEEP = 0

You should end up with a string of binary, if you have listened carefull enough. Once youv'e got this bianry code, post it on here and I'll decode the faultfor you.

I will also need to know if the machine is pre-built IE: HP/ACER/COMPAQ or if its custom built.

If its custom built, which bios build do you have.

All this will help me tell you the fault with a 95% success rate of being correct.

Most likely to be memory or graphics card.
But do what mapadale says :)

Bin it.......

Get me the bios error code and I'll tell you the fault, though it will more likely be the memory.

Oh and emachine is the PCW equivilant to Acer, though more problems with it.

Its an Emachine and so more than likely RAM, as its giving bios beep during normal use.
