My PC gets really noisy!

Now, it was ok before when i have a cheap 8500GT Gcard and 3800 AMDx2 processor.

I recently upgraded to AMD 6000 x2 processor, and it got a little noiser, but I thought nothing of it.

i then about 3 weeks ago upgraded the Gcard to a Zotac 9800GT DDR3 1GB and it got a hell of alot noisier, especially whilst playing wow. I just thought the more powerful Gcard caused it. But now its annoying me.

Looked around on google and people say theirs is quiet as a mouse?

So thinking it could be the PSU thats making it noisy, not getting enough power to the Processor/Gcard?

I have a Coloursit 400U 400W PSU... Should I be upgrading? if so can anyone reccomend me a decent PSU for a good price? £60 or less? Could go a little higher if really needed

So m yspec currently is

MSI K9N Neo nForce 550 Mobo
400w PSU
AMD 6000 x2
3gb RAM
300gb HDD with a 750GB Seagate External HDD
9800GT GCard

Still think it will be worth me getting a better PSU, just to be safe.

This one has been in since I had the PC built, about 3-4 years ago!

Yeah I clean it every now and then from dust, especially when i make changes such as adding new Processor and gcard.

Might buy a 750W PSU.

my 8800gt is fkin noisey as hell, pisses me off, and doesnt even make it stay cool.

but yeah, cleaning all the dust out always reduces the noise for me.

also, if your computer temp stays cool, and you think its your psu, go in to your bios and turn the fan speed down abit. makes alot of difference to what u can hear.

if its cpu get the p50 water cooler its cheap and lowers noise by tons but if its gcard check the fan is screwed in right becuase if not it will rattle and make noise, or if its just case fans then get new ones cos that can be loud aswel

My case fans are "ultra quiet" ones. They have never been a problem.

its not a rattling noise, just like noisy fans. its not that bad, just pissesm e off when I aint got my music on lol

You only need a high watt psu if you got lots of things in your pc such as extra dvd drives, hard drives, fans etc and i expect your gfx card uses a fair bit. go for like mine a 750 watt thats more than enough, i got mine from maplins on offer ^^ and i asuming it an atx 24 pin power connecter but check your mobo manual if your unsure, either buy one online and search for reviews on it or do what i done just went and brought one :)

As pointed out, go for a 750w PSU. As you are underpowering that hardware in your machine, also look to changing the cooling in the machine also.

Standard fans are ok for a basic smaller system, but anything with beef needs to be cooled correctly.
