i also have another 512 mb stick of ram to add to this so it will be 1024 mb ram...

I Already have a gfx card suitable for the games i wish to play...

would this upgrade kit be ok? to play games such as battlefield 2 etc?

How much money do you want to spend total, because that's not that great of an upgrade. Also, is your existing 512 module DDR400?

i have an existing ddr400 512, i was wanting to spend that amount.... will that be ok for jsut general use such as msn, downloading, burning dvd's, play a few bf2 n stuff maybe on med settings or sumthing?

The first is your best option and it will allow you to overclock a lot.

The second is if you do not want to overclock.

could i have your msn mate? i may be interested in buying the overclocking setup u posted, i know how to overclock as in increase fsb but is there a correct way of doing it? i wouldnt liek to chat if it wasnt to much of a hassle mate.

Overclocking is not something to learn over MSN as there's many variables and it's slightly complicated.

I'd write a guide but I'm a procrastinator and when you combine that with the fact I start my second semester tomorrow you can expect it sometime 2034. Google would probably be your best bet. Find a link, post it here, I'll look over it.
