well an amd socket 939 pci-e sli motherboard would be a good starting point. can pick one up for around £70+ now. Id go for either a high end Athlon 64 single core processor or a mid range X2 like the 3800+.. as for gfx, 7800gtx will be dropping in price as the 7900gtx is out now, but thats still over £200 for the gfx. maybe a 6800XT would be more suited as you could always get a second for sli config at a later date. any old case would do aslong as you like the look of it... and retail cpu's come with heatsink and fan, but if you want better cooling im sure someone (urban) will be along in no time with a product list from komplett.

If you want new cooling, i'd suggest Artic Cooling Freezer 64. Imo thats the best price/quality relationship.

Ive already got some of

Kingston ValueRAM 512Mb DDR400 PC3200 DDR 184Pin Memory
and also a
Kingston ValueRAM 512Mb DDR266 PC2100 DDR

I was thinking just use the DDR400 PC3200 for about until I can afford to upgrade that too.

It would be fruitless to use a nice system with 512 of ram unless you plan on buying ram in the next couple weeks. 512 would greatly limit the system.
