So one of the boys in work left and as a parting gift set me a challenge. Im 100% sure hes done something router side that affects my auto patcher.

We have the main network in work and then one that runs to a set of phones used for a different set of calls. Ive tried the patcher on 4 pcs connected to the main network and they all return this error

The remote server returned an error. Error(425) cannot open data connection.

Then just closes.

However on the other network it updates and works fine but i cant use that all the time.

Does anyone have an idea of what he would have done to do this?

Could be that your patcher is using ftp protocol and your firewall is blocking the ftp port...

Open your "PatchClient.ini" file and check if the links in there are "ftp://" if they are change these to "http://" assuming your firewall isn't blocking port 80 :P.

Yeah stop playing mir while in work :P

It's prob blocked by the network firewall and that's why it will not connect to the patch server. A lot of office firewalls block FTP so do what Sam said
