What would be a suitable ping for a MMORPG server, i know for FPS its around 120ms as an average without there being lag etc but what about MMORPG? I would think it would be less but not sure. WHat do other servers ping at for you?

certainly needs to be less than 100, ideally 50ms or under if you can get it, the closer you get to 100ms the more likely you'll get lag I would say.

min is 30 at the moment m8 and there is practicly no lag even with me on it as its hosted on my personal computer but soon to get dedi yay

you ping your server like


on your home pc as ur using a dedi masterq u would go to start and then run and type CMD and then ping 195.242.237.80 and then it will tell you your adverage ping

i have done it now and it is 174 ms average, thats high

FPS english servers av ping should be about 50-60 my best has been 24 FPS American servers av ping is about 120 but i have had it at 150 before

The ideal av ping your looking for is around 50 and try not to have it near 100 as someones else stated before.

i have done it now and it is 174 ms average, thats high

This is what i got with 86 users on.

Its hosted in UK, was it really that high?

I get 15ms to 22ms so yes it can be that high

Well mine pings at around 170ms which is really bad but its because its hosted in America so far the distance its not bad but if we carry on growing im definately going to have to change to a UK provider because it will cause problems leter :S
