Playstation 3 Help

I brought a PS3 today, but not brought a game yet, (ran out off money ) anyway i was wondering how you play ps2 games on there, I have updated the ps3 to Version 2.0, Also i know there are only a certain amount off ps2 games you can play.

So anyone could tell me how to play ps2 games on a ps3, also a list off ps2 games that you can play would be great.

I have put in about 20 ps2 games in and all i get is unsupported Data.

Why i got a ps3 because i think its better then a X-box 360 duh.

I have used google but not found anything to help me. I have asked my irl mate and he said just put the disk in and it will work, But i done all my ps2 games and keep getting same thing.

But my brother said, You need to install something on to it, But no idea what..

edit: i searched google for abit, and found thatmost websites said either the PS3 cannot play PS2, PSOne games or it will play very few.

Ok i read the back off the box and noticed a box saying "IMPORTANT" So i began to read and it said "This system dose not support Playstation 2 Titles lol =/. Sorry.

Depends on what PS3 you brought if your a cheap ass and brought the one with no wireless small hard disc etc it doesnt support them i dont think but my PS3 plays PS2 games becuase my lil bro plays GTA:SA on it all the time

lol similar to xbox versions althought PS3 remove thier wireless and some other features in some of thier versions when xbox dont include wireless at all just a different colour and bigger HD.

Should of forked out a bit more cash and get the better PS3 tbh.

Simple answer - 60gb ps3 supports ps2 games, anything less than the 60gb model doesn't.

Its like a massive memory card :P the PS3 games take up alot of space i think.
