I had a very similar problem. Mir would randomly freeze/lagout whilst playing and when I checked my wireless connection it would show as disconnected. There seemed to be no consistency with it. I wouldn't need to reboot though, just close Mir and wait a few seconds for it to reconnect. Weird thing was it only happens with Mir and no other game or app.

Luckily I had some Ethernet over power socket converters which pretty much solved my disconnection issues and I just use those when I want to play Mir. They are very useful if you aren't able to plug in directly to your router.

Just incase the reason you're rebooting is because Mir gets stuck on the black screen after freezing, you just need to alt+f4 twice to close it fully.

Have you done Virus/Anti Virus scans?

I've never had this on any version, including Chronicles before.

i see your using windows XP, try disabling wireless software that came with your card and just use the windows XP wifi, this may or may nor cure its just ive personally found that on occarions the software that comes with wifi cards tends to cause conflictions

Do you play any other more recent MMO games on that laptop? Like wow or SWtoR or guild wars etc?

i ask as it could possibly be the game is using more bandwidth than your wifi card can handle (I highly doubt it though).
