Was this ever fixed? Either nemo/turrican said it was added to the to do list but carnt seem to find the original post :S

Pm is back to front, on ace/chron it was like

Sender:=> hello (bold text)
Replier: hello

It should be like
Sender: hello
Replier:=> hello (bold txt)

It's on the list, has not yet been done, but I don't understand how its better the other way.
=> looks more like outgoing than incoming to me, and would read

what you would see on your screen:
Nemo: Hey nemo
Nemo => hey deano

Personally looks like it would be me saying the top one no matter which is bold, despite how it may have been on euro, as when I would speak in any other way it would show as "Nemo: nemos message." and whisper is the only thing that wouldn't display this way.

I'll admit, it will probably be strange to start with, but i'm sure it won't be that hard to get used to :S

=> means in programming language "is outgoing" when not thinking about values

Had this debate with Nemo in game.

We argued each way had its reasoning behind and that ultimately it really doesn't matter at all, it's something you'll get used to if you have to.

It would be the same as changing !~ and / chat commands to /guild (or /gu for short) and /tell

There wasn't a need to change it, it's just Nemo being pedantic and causing confusion amongst the masses just 'because' ;p

Seems weird to change something that's not been a problem for over 12 years just to cause a little confusion, lol.

It's got nothing to do with me, its how they did it. :P

I know, was just clarifying towards nemo why it is used that way O:

You're agreeing with me but it sounds like you're not? :P

i disagreed with the initial thought.

if you whisper a player player: Hi.
if he whispers back player => hi
outgoing, as outgoing from the players name not from the sender himself.

I remember first playing ace(after a good 5 years or so from playing mir) i found it confusing at first, but over time iv become accustomed to it.

I believe it should be changed back to how it was originally intended to work, as I'm sure others will find it confusing at first too. (less confusion the better :P)

Another option would be to just add a To / From infront of players names.

All I am saying is, to me it makes sense for everything that I say to be displayed as 'Name: message' no matter what kind of message it is. And sending a message to someone has a different indication. so someone else sees all my messages like so, the last being someone sending a message to me:

I see that as an outgoing message to Nemo. I just think if this was another game its obvious which way around would make more sense to players.

It really makes no difference to me which way around it is. lol

For me it makes sense that everything you write is in one format of [Name: Hello] and to differentiate from you speaking and someone else speaking to you there is a => before the text. I don't understand why it would say Nemo: hello for every chat type except for PMs where it is the exact opposite.

You can view it both ways, there is no right or wrong answer. It's totally up to you and the rest of the team which way is taken onto Chronicles live. We either get used to a new system or forget the issue entirely.

i do not see any problem, you can send and receive messages. who actually gives a **** about a =>?
