This is highly unlikely (and senseless). Why not make RakingCats drop ParaRing at 1/1Bln then?

Para ring dropping off SB/WM at an insane rate is acceptable. Off a Dung or CaveMaggot.. not so much. No high-end item should drop off a mob that a level 15 can kill. Else why not add all melee items, and no ranged/caster ones, to Hens with drop rates between 1/100 and 1/10000000? They are melee mobs, after all. Or PoisonCloud to SpittingSpiders' drop list. Or a hypothetical level 55 Wiz thunder spell to ElectricZombies' drops?

How many people actually harvested all of those items though? I think the majority on euro were all from the Easter event. Koriz had one off a spiderbat towards the end of the game.

I'll tell you the truth because I've no reason to lie, I had a poison cloud book drop in PSC about 3 weeks a go

You mean the Euro Mir 2 Easter Event in about 2006 (I think from before P Server maybe) where thousands of Paras were gotten from Hens in BW?

Yeah, I don't think many were actually harvested from mobs, as it was effort!
Supermeds got his poison cloud from a toxic in PI island too - they spit green poison, might be a hint?

Used to get excited when I harvested a toxic ghoul or spider bat and my bag filled with a mini mass drop.
i love the idea of monster specific drops, it's part of mir. If drops aren't going to plan due to some monsters being less popular then perhaps making the caves more appealing, or, add a smaller chance of any class book at the same level as it's main book drop.

As a player who got FlameField from an OmaWarrior in Castle Giryoong on P Server euro, I can confirm this was true.

But there's no OW in PI..
It's still stupid for a level 15 to get an X million level 44 book. Level 44 mobs don't drop level 15 books for a reason - you should have to hunt in level-appropriate areas.

Just to Clarify, I didn't say I got my Poison Cloud from an Oma Warrior, I didn't.
I got mine on PI, however this convo was mainly started about the availability of FF and the other class books, which don't seem to have dropped.
In EuroMir, new 40+ books of certain types did drop from Oma Warriors and other low level bosses, like OW's, Giant Keratoids, Ghouls, Bone Elite etc
I asked why people complaining aren't looking to those old droppers. I don't expect FF will drop on PI or in PSC like Poison Cloud, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if FF dropped from Oma Warriors in WW, or Giant Keratoids around MW, or Ghouls or Bone Elite's, and next to nobody seems to be even considering this, let alone actually killing a few.
Also Lancelot, books DO drop outside of their own level range areas. You can get 20 n 30+ books in mines, you can get sub lvl 10-20 level books in higher lvl areas.

I've never had a level 20 book drop in anything above PSC
@Sam/BH: you said you checked the drop rate and spelling for FF tons. Have you considered slightly altering the drop rate, seeing if that helps (say 1/39 or 1/41 instead of 1/40)? It might be bugged for some reason, but until you figure out why/how to fix it it's clear that that particular skill is dropping way less than equivalent skills. Have you tried spawning 2x drop rate (so 80 for 1/40) of the bosses and seeing if it drops? 3x?

The only mobs that I can think of that possibly don't get killed enough that may drop FlameField are Orc mobs (people just run to bosses), Jinchon Temple mobs, Lost Ship mobs, Fox Cave mobs, Frost Temple mobs and possibly Vipers (since drop files changed) and Murlocs?
If so it's not exactly from the same level of caves as PSC and PB (which are easy) for Poision Cloud which is a bit unfair if that is the case.

So, PC seems to drop from poison monsters?
From this I am guessing people should go and hunt FlameGriffins in Jinchon if they want FF. I would say FireMinotaur aswell, but I actually don't think they will put it back into them to drop as they are hunted quite often between 28-35

Low level mobs don't drop high level items or books. This was intended as when server opened loads were droppin off khaz and ft. Nerfed drops straight away lol.
