Jamie can you look at the timings and effect of the stat effect please.

I used to have awesome pos dmg kit in Euro so thought i'd look at testing it on here, just added a gem to a wep and the effect is a really low proc (I killed 10 mobs and saw it effect 2 times), how ever it literally popped on and off again, surely if the proc takes effect it should last a certain amount of time. these gems are the highest mat / cost ones to make and atm it seems pointless even thinking about adding more to my gear.

Can you have a look at the proc rate chance / duration / dmg effect please. Is it working as intended ?

Chance = PoisonAttack / 20

on each hit.

Damage per tick = your PoisonAttack Value.

Duration is static.

does not interfere with regular poison (it works side by side)

how do we calculate our poison attack value ? does that mean we need to have loads of poison gems on to even make the stat worth considering ?

Is the same calculation done for frost gems ?

for the cost of making these gems, I think something needs to change, either the creation cost of the gem or the benefit of using them.

As it stands it seems way too low to consider wasting gold testing further.

Yes, his code shows that Chance = PoisonAttack / 20

So that your Poison Attack stat Divided by 20 to get the chance.

So if you had 5 Poisen Attack from multiple gems you would have a 0.25% chance to hit (wether thans 0.25% or 25% i am unsure).

But a tick of 5 Psn isnt bad imo

5/20 = 25% (1 in 4 hits)

you sure?

if the code reads Chance = PsnAttack / 20

That reads as % = 5 / 20 Which is 0.25

Have you got a Chance * 100 bit of code hidden somewhere?

where did the % come from?

English approximation:

If random 1 to 20 <= Poison Attack then Poison.

You don't know whether 5/20 is 0.25% or 25%?...... really? 0_o

I had a poison+1 J mace, the poison never proced and when it did, the tick was for 1 damage for like 3 seconds. Guess you need +5+ poison for it to be decent

So do we conclude that 'Frost' gems have the same calculation and result ?
