Poll Do You Think The Server Needs Rewinding?

Basically there was a GM error with drop files in ST F4+ Which allowed certain individuals to make excessive amounts of gold in a very short amount of time, see http://www.lomcn.org/forum/showthread.php?84771-mass-drop-rate-bug My question is, do you think there should be a server rewind to counteract this, or should the players who exploited be able to keep their ill gotten gains?

After the whole hacking situation I dont blame sam for not givng/wanting anyone access to the server, within a few days of trusting someone it seems they rush to get out new drop files but in the progess they can not check, double check or triple check the work they have been doing (same with easter event). thank you

Personally i think its unfair to give BabyHack any stick over this, he is only human.. He made a mistake, he confessed to it straight away and takes full blame. Hes taken the server down until the issue is dealt with, i personally think he has handled it pretty well.

Who cares if we cant log into mir for a day or 2, we are having a heat wave in the UK, and its Saturday tomorrow..

I appreciate BH's honesty on taking full responsibility, and I actually think hes a bloody good GM. I just dont think its fair on the people who didn't exploit it.

it wasnt like that last night im assumin its just been last few hrs. And its not an exploit as such, more a GM error that ppl have taken advantage of. Ive voted yes, cant see y there cant be one, they happened often on euro an ppl moan for 5mins then let it go tbh.

I lvled in St yesterday till 9pm i saw lots of pots and mass drops. did i get rich ....no. did i lvl ....yes..no rewind

I didn't benefit from this gold bug in anyway,i didnt even know it was happening, i was working all day then decided after work i'd go outside and enjoy the heat wave at the pub, but i still dont think there should be a rewind.

depends how long the rewind is, I did 50% on my lvl 36 warrior yesterday.... and that's long time. Even if they gave x2 exp it would still take a while, eeeh. **** you exploiters.

What ever the GM's do it's going to annoy us all. Either rewind and people loose level gains/drops that haven't actually been in ST. Or keep the levels and have people being filthy rich from a few hours hunting in ST. It's swings and roundabouts. Whatever happens. People are going too loose out. I for one am more annoyed servers down because of this. Hopefully get sorted sooner rather than later. I doubt gm's can go through the accounts that have been exploiting the drops.


Too the people who exploited the drops. If you had just come forward and been honest about the drop files, 1. the server wouldn't be down all weekend (more than likely can see this happening)
2. Could of been fixed and all of us not having to face a rewind and loosing out. Selfish noobs.

The server lost a fair few people due to Shadowstep being in the easter egg/bunny drop files and then Sam denying it... This could be the final nail in the coffin for a few of the players.

A rewind all depends on when the last backup was. if it's just before the "bug" then it may not be so bad. But was if it's a day before? There will be a lot of unhappy players.

I believe BH and the team will be going through the logs, this way they could be able to remove all the gold gained from effected areas out of the characters bags. This would be the best option, but the most time consuming one.

The GM's going through the logs and checking whos been exploiting is the only option really. It's been a few days since the drop "update" had been announced. people would have found other things off bosses ect. Punish only the exploiters. Might take a while but im sure they'll find out who did it. Just get server back online lol
