Why would you even want marble v2 , yet another server where it has **** loads of potential ( like this ) to be a real long term server , and he starts ****ing **** up within a month , you only need to check this site to see the daily moans about the latest “balance” changes , you’re deluded if you think Jamie will ever become a good Gm, sure he creates good **** but he can’t manage it in the slightest
It does seem to be too much for one person to handle. Even Samuel ended up hiring an extra coder and had 3 other people helping him manage the forums/bullshit/balance that is required of a Mir server.
Jamie does have shane, but to be honest I don't recognise shanes ability to handle anything better than Jamie can, nor is shane a good coder. He can trust him, at least - and that's rare to have especially for a Mir server.
I get on well with Jamie and would help out if it's really needed - but besides PR management what else could I realistically do? Being honest with myself it would mean Jamie allowing access to his server in order to better help with balance and design, which is a big no no from a security point of view, no matter how well you know someone. Hell i'd want to atleast meet them in person before giving away details like that. I offered this to him a while ago but nothing came of it, so I chose a different path and am working with someone else, to do something I enjoy.
The thing is, Jamie is capable of doing all of these things and responding to people too but approaching him in the correct manner is important. Asking for clarity in a well formed and constructed thread goes a long way to getting a reply, as opposed to the usual incessent whining that goes on among these forums. It's a turn off, to say the least. You'll also lose all credibility if you claim something as fact, when he has the numbers to know you're making it up.
Which is all too common from Mir players attempting to get their own way. It's a no win situation for either Jamie or the players, I think he could do with avoiding literally every form of communication and hiring someone else to relay information, as all the drama and crap that goes on here, while entertaining as ****, doesn't do him any favours. That alone might actually be all that's needed at present, tbh.
