Don't by HP laptops from PCW, buy them direct from HP or from a cheaper source - Also to get your laptop repaired, if you go via HP then your looking at about £368 - This will include all repairs to the laptop, so make sure you tell them the full faults - This also includes the engineer time.

But shop around and see whats cheaper, but at least with HP you will get HP parts anyone else you might not.

For a new laptop charger you will be looking to pay anything upto 90 pounds. My friend payed 60 quid for a new one. You may be able to shop about and just get the half thats broken though.

It might not be the charger it could be the pin on the laptop and if the battery aint holding power, that could be down to the main board.

Having a laptop myself moving it about ect, Its normally the wire that gets twisted and moved alot right next to where you connect it to the laptop.

Thats a damaged pin then and this will be why the battery aint charging as well. The battery power board is on the same circuit as the Ac power pin.
