Simple summary:
1. The number of servers going online during the month dropped from 39 in August, to 29 in September and 30 in October.
2. The average 'share' of players between the servers that were online increased from 3 in August, to 5 in September and 4 in October.
3. The average global playercount increased from 130 in August to 150 in September, however then dropped to 120 in October.
4. LOMCN user activity continued its 5 month drop for another month (6 months) by falling from 380 in May, to 320 in October.

My analysis
Sep/Oct has been the worst month ever for new servers, my guess is people are seeing less of a reason to start a server... or are finding it increasingly difficult to get started. Nevertheless as a consequence of less servers being online, the average number of people on a particular server has increased (good thing).

Furthur analysis/interpretation welcome as usual :)

i agree with the less servers being online is due to alot of new stuff in the files, which makes it harder to run, with the 1.4 files it was easy but with the 1.9 files now its harder due to files have to conect to regesrty programes and such

shame it doesnt show the big servers that have blocked server count. Servers like p69 during the day time are never below 25 users. And in at peak times it easily gets over 150

But in reflection asda, showing servers that have their own communities would distort stats from servers given an equal start from here. Theres nothing stopping the servers that block SC4 from opening their port (especially if they realised someone can do a lot more harm through the logingate than the usercount output).

I understand what your saying and agree, but people who might see this, may think that private servers are dead, theres no point playing or building a server. But there is!

The current 'market' says theres around 120 players to contend for - hardly constitues being dead. Theres also 320 LOMCN users... so you can assume theres between 1-200 potential/sparse players which are just waiting to be whoo'd too.
