me again When i get someone to try to my pc they get an error msg saying host did not respond in time. And i get an error saying something on the lines of invalid ip address attempted connection, anyone know how i can fix this

Well first of all tell me your setup - have you got a internet connection stright to the server machine? have you got a Router in the way?

If you have a direct connection - then use server runner to set IP to internet IP for game instead of 127.0.0.1 and it will work.

ty for help mate i am on the server pc now setting up no router just one pc connected straight to the internet, thats all, by net ip do you mean my ip that is in the form 81.123.123.123 instead of my ip 127.0.0.1

Internal IP (for Non external connections - test/connection) 127.0.0.1

Windows Nt to XP ( I think) Lan and internet IP

Start menu -> Run -> ‘cmd’ -> ‘ipconfig’

Ethernet adapter …. (lan) 19x.xxx.xxx.xxx

PPP adapter (internet/ ma be different on BB) probaly your -81.123.123.123


Are… someone else wil fill in gaps I hope

You need to run the server in that case on your internet IP (81 thing) - then people can connect - i could go into techinal detail as not all programs need to talk to the next but its probably easier just to have it all the same ip.

Here is something else too - make sure you got some sort of firewall (software) as SQL will also let peolpe connect - now that would be fatel as people could brute force the password and then change your database right under your nose.
