Hey,

A few people have asked me now why it takes them multiple attempts to login to a server. When checking myself I can't actually find the source of the problem, nor understand how or why it would occur.

The thing that really gets me is that the first few attempts will fail, but without anything else being changed it will succeed on the second or third attempt to login.

Players of Disturbed server are regulary perturbed by it lol.

Ideas?

I have experemented with loads of different methods, I to am truely stumped by it. I think it may just be a bug to ledu, as this problem never occured before ledu was released.

Na its nothing to do with ledu, because Meteora server is having the same problem with the normal mir client :(

By reading about lomcn, it appears to be caused by routers, also loopback. But surely there is a way which a server can be hosted so people can connect over the internet and via router/network with having to attempt to login more than once? And i mean a way which also doesnt require loopback in a router.

Its just going to be a pain to try find a way which works perfect :(

it is something to do with the different versions of ledu an people beeing behind a router causes this problem. as im using a older verson of ledu i can connect straight away to my server both online and offline. the reason its like that with a router is bc people other comps on a router cnt connect using there second comp unless its a certain ip which takes a while to register (which shows the 2/3 attempts) im not sure on the no ip 1. this is what iv found out by usin a later verson of ledu as on my offline server it took me several attempts to login

the loop back cnt be canceld on a router i dnt think ( im not on 1 so cnt look into that) but i do kno its the older versions of ledu that run a lot better an smoother than the latest. the only reason meteora server does it is bc hes using a different ip on his line to get ppl to connect thru so he can connect on his second computer

well the correct explination for this which iv been trying to solve for some time but still had no luck just about every 1 is on a router these days so peaple used sentures guide which requires editing the files which causes this problem if you didnt edit the files where sentures guide tells you to peaple would be able to connect fine yet the person hosting it or on the network will not be abke to connect people have tried useing loopback but this seems to stop some people from connecting so we are stuck with this problem maybe there is some sort of way you could code it out of the gates? im unsure there must be a way.
