Ahoy there.

I'm going to lay it out straight;

Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 x 2..66Ghz
4GB DDR2 RAM
2 x 750 GB HD
Type: SATA2 - RAID
5 IPs
100 Mbps
'Unlimited' Traffic
Remote server boot
Repair in 4h
FTP backup
MRTG Graphs

I'm looking for a mature, reliable and imaginative team, working on a set of Mir 2 files to initiate a partnership with.

I will offer dedicated hosting with the above specs, on a few terms.

1. I have complete control over the website and its advertising. I don't expect a GM position, or an administrator's position in any aspect of the game at all. I'm not really interested in that side of things.

2.Either no donations, or I'd like a fair % of the donations. Nothing stupid, something along the lines of 10-20%.

You can, if you'd like have access to the dedicated server.

And no, before anyone asks, I do not own the server. It'll be hired. PM me.

Again, only mature people will be considered, with something to show me too. I don't want a project that hasn't begun yet.

This offer is aimed at the people working on the Unleashed files and Philipine source also.

EDIT: I've decided to work on my own set of files for the next few months. Not much else I can say, but thanks to those for enquiring. If anybody's interested, expecting it to be atleast until May, when I'll start promoting it.

True. I could also place statues throughout the game all crediting to myself, and naming all the items after me.

I'm not looking for an ego trip. I don't want to manage the community. Why else would I want to be GM?

Why? It's sort of an experiment. Of what, it's not really anyone's business. But again, all I'm asking is for the terms above. Plus, I'll design the website and the CMS too, considering that's pretty much the only aspect I'll be controlling, excluding the content and members.

Seems like a reasonable offer If you ask me. I am looking to put some 2.6 files up on a dedicated server. What should be ready for Beta testing In around 4-5 Days.

Would also have a coder that can work on the files with us, (Azura).

If you wana talk, just add my msn m8.

This is my server thread, does say 2.3 but we have gone over to 2.6 :)

You looking for any type of server in particular?

Not really. That's pretty much entirely up to the team. But, a server doing something new (i.e, programmer in team would be cool), or a different angle involved with running the server... It's hard to explain. But the typical:

"Yeah we're making a server. I mean, it's pretty good, we've worked hard on it the past few weeks, so if you want, just logon, have some fun. We even have warrior pets, yay!".

- I find that pretty unimaginative and sloppy. I mean, some people may have nothing to do, but certainly time spent on getting a server sub-par playable could be spend... reading a book? Learning something?

But yeah, anymore questions, shoot.

^Guy above me, will add you now.

Very nice offer but im sitting here thinking why? There must be reason behind you wanting to do this and not be part of the ingame team?

With all due respects we are working on Torozor 2.6 high rate we cannot afford a dedicated server and we dont want to introduce donations. So it will be home hosted. If your still offering this and would like to look at our server, PM me.

Cheers

im guessing full access of the website means u can put advertisements where ever you wish, making a decentish profit if the server has a high user count?

Correct.

And yeah, I'll take a look at Torozor now.

EDIT: Tbh, nobody with a mirserver really takes advantage of what could be done with a website. Usually, they throw a website up with some crap free template, then use their thread on LOMCN as their forum (the majority of servers, not all). So, I think It's pretty fair that, if I'm paying for pretty good dedi hosting, making the website in photoshop, coding it in valid XHTML, CSS and JS/Ajax and then making a PHP CMS, and then (depending on success of server) paying for a vbulletin license - in return I get to control what happens with the website ;)

Like I said, I'd prefer if a server didnt take money for perks, donatons out of good will, no problem.

And no, donations will be seperate, All I'm asking for is about 10% of donations (to go towards hosting, every little helps, as they say) and any revenue generated from the website, i.e, advertising, adsense, etc.

i still cannot see how you would profit from this. A private server website would not generate the hits to interest any worth while ads. The only thing you got really is adsense and that's just a waste of pixels lol. Being a website designer for a while i could in my view only see 1 way why you would like to do this... you enjoy making websites and seem to have a fair bit of knowledge so it would be something your proud of and a sense of accomplishment? and also being part of a team :) sounds like a good offer never the less.
